Ac Dryer

Hello All,

 

I mentioned this in the welcome post but thought i'd put it in the technical section where it belonged. I have done a search but couldn't find anything about this...if i've searched wrong then apologies.

 

I have an oily substance that leaks from what i believe is the dryer (under the drivers front wing), looks like a black bottle. Just wondered if anyone knew what this was, over the weeks i hadn't noticed as i park the car in the same spot but when i moved it off the drive the other day, hey presto....big stain.

 

Worryingly i beleive its something to do with the AC coolant as this has the oil mixed in with it doesn't it so i'm going to have to get it fixed and re-charged :huh:

That is indeed the dryer/receiver. It is held on by a couple of allen head bolts. Replacements are available from GSF,

i too was wondering what this was, i noticed from ours that on two seperate occasoins over a month that the dryer was wet with a green oily substance i dried it off and it was fine till a few weekas later, the air con works fine and was recharegd and repaired this year , will it knacket the comp if i dont get it fixed ?
